Positive Thinking Instructions and Advice

Positive Thinking Instructions and Advice

In order to turn the mind toward the positive, some inner work is required, since attitude and thoughts do not change overnight.
  1. Read about this subject, think about its benefits, and persuade yourself to try it. The power of your thoughts is a mighty power that is always shaping your life. This shaping is usually done subconsciously, but it is possible to make the process a conscious one. Even if the idea seems strange, give it a try. You have nothing to lose, but only to gain.
  2. Ignore what other people say or think about you, if they discover that you are changing the way you think.
  3. Use your imagination to visualize only favorable and beneficial situations.
  4. Use positive words in your inner dialogues, or when talking with others.
  5. Smile a little more, as this helps to think positively.
  6. Once a negative thought enters your mind, you have to be aware of it, and endeavor to replace it with a constructive one. If the negative thought returns, replace it again with a positive one. It is as if there are two pictures in front of you, and you have to choose to look at one of them, and disregard the other. Persistence will eventually teach your mind to think positively, and to ignore negative thoughts.
  7. In case you experience inner resistance and difficulties when replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, do not give up, but keep looking only at the beneficial, good and happy thoughts in your mind.
  8. It doesn't matter what your circumstances are at the present moment. Think positively, expect only favorable results and situations, and circumstances will change accordingly. If you persevere, you will transform the way your mind thinks. It might take some time for the changes to take place, but eventually they will.
  9. Another useful technique is the repetition of affirmations. This technique is similar to creative visualization, and can be used together with it.

Positive Thinking

Positive thinking is a mental and emotional attitude that focuses on the bright side of life and expects positive results.
A positive person anticipates happiness, health and success, and believes he or she can overcome any obstacle and difficulty.
Positive thinking is not accepted by everyone. Some, consider it as nonsense, and scoff at people who follow it, but there is a growing number of people, who accept positive thinking as a fact, and believe in its effectiveness.
It seems that this subject is gaining popularity, as evidenced by the many books, lectures and courses about it.
To use it in your life, you need more than just to be aware of its existence. You need to adopt the attitude of positive thinking in everything you do.

How Positive Thinking Works

The following story illustrates how this power works:
Allan applied for a new job, but he didn't believe he will get it, since his self-esteem was low, and he considered himself as a failure and unworthy of success.
He had a negative attitude toward himself, and therefore, believed that the other applicants were better and more qualified than him.
Allan's mind was occupied with negative thoughts and fears concerning the job, for the whole week preceding the job interview. He actually, anticipated failure.
On the day of the interview, he got up late, and to his horror he discovered that the shirt he planned to wear was dirty, and the other one needed ironing. As it was already too late, he went out wearing a wrinkled shirt and without eating breakfast.
During the interview, he was tense, negative, hungry and worried about his shirt. All this, distracted his mind and made it difficult for him to focus on the interview. His overall behavior made a bad impression, and consequently, he materialized his fear and did not get the job.
Jim applied for the same job too, but approached the matter in a different way. He was sure that he was going to get the job. During the week preceding the interview, he often visualized himself making a good impression and getting the job.
In the evening before the interview, he prepared the clothes he was going to wear, and went to sleep a little earlier. On day of the interview, he woke up earlier than usual, and had ample time to eat breakfast, and then to arrive to the interview before the scheduled time.
Jim made a good impression and got the job.
What do we learn from these two stories? Was there any magic used? No, everything happened in a natural way.

Positive Thinking Is a Way of Life

With a positive attitude we experience pleasant and happy feelings. This brings brightness to the eyes, more energy, and happiness. Our whole being broadcasts good will, happiness and success. Even our health is affected in a beneficial way. We walk tall, our voice is more powerful, and our body language shows the way we feel.
Positive and negative thinking are contagious.
We affect, and are affected by the people we meet, in one way or another. This happens instinctively and on a subconscious level, through words, thoughts and feelings, and through body language.
Is it any wonder that we want to be around positive people, and prefer to avoid negative ones?
People are more disposed to help us, if we are positive, and they dislike and avoid anyone broadcasting negativity.
Negative thoughts, words and attitude, create negative and unhappy feelings, moods and behavior. When the mind is negative, poisons are released into the blood, which cause more unhappiness and negativity. This is the way to failure, frustration and disappointment.

Unleash The Niche In You

Often one of the early stumbling blocks for some people when they think about starting a blog or creating a business is 'What can I write about?' or 'What area am I an expert in?'

Answering a few questions can sometimes help unlock something realistic and genuinely achievable - a lasting part-time or full-time project that you will enjoy and stick at. One that could bring financial rewards, but more importantly something that could give you a sense of personal fulfilment and respect from your friends, family and peers.

It’s not important how old you are, or whether you think you’ve got talent or not. You may feel aimless right now, with absolutely no idea about what you could possibly have to offer or how you could profit from it.

It doesn’t matter. This might help you look at your life and find that first great idea that all businesses need, even part-time businesses you run from a kitchen table.
If you walk away from this without any inspiration at all, then at least you gave
this a good shot.

The lesson is, you don’t know what powers you have, or what ideas you could
hit upon until you sit down and try it.

Ask yourself:

• Is there an interest or skill that you have acquired in the past that
you’ve enjoyed, or gets you fired up?

• Have you ever considered trying to apply that interest or skill? What’s
stopping you? A lack of technical skills? Is there something you could
learn that would get you over that hurdle?

Ask yourself:

• Have you gone through a major experience in your life that’s changed,
inspired or deeply affected you? Is there something you learned from
that experience that you could share with others? This could be the
kernel of a business idea.

• Have you ever wished you could change career, or create your own
part time job?

• If you could find something that you were passionate about, and which
inspired you, would you really be that worried about big money? Or
would you love being paid a fair wage for something that fulfils you? If
you’ve been seduced by the dream of striking it rich, perhaps it’s time to
swap that dream for something more realistic and achievable.

Ask yourself:

• Have you ever bought and sold on eBay or Amazon? Did you enjoy it?
Have you ever felt a buzz from unearthing a great deal, or making a
profit on something you bought for cheap?

• Have you ever collected something – books, wine, antiques, toys,
ephemera, autographs, scrapbooks, art?

• Are you a super-fan? Is there something in your life that you’re
completely mad about? It could be anything, dogs, cats, trains, sports
teams, films, television programmes, cars, bands, artists, food, drink, a
certain town, country or city.

• Is your life unusual or interesting? Perhaps you live in idyllic
surroundings, grow your own food, raise lots of kids, look after pets, live
an alternative lifestyle, or have an intriguing job or peculiar hobby.

• What could you share? Forget about the financial pay off, or the
products you could sell. Is there something in your life that you think
other people might find of interest or use? Sharing ideas online for free
is the first step to creating a business, because it gets you known and
builds you a community.

Ask yourself:

• Have you ever wanted to be a writer, but wondered if you were good
enough, or whether there was an audience for what you write about?
Thanks to new free online publishing tools, it’s easier than ever to get
your ideas out there quickly.

• Have you ever created something? It could be anything from arts,
crafts, music, and photography? You won’t know how far you could take
these things unless you get them online for people to see.

• Have you ever shared a crazy joke or humorous idea with a friend? Is
there something about society that makes you laugh or drives you
mad? If you can write about common experiences in a way that’s not
been done online before, it’s surprising how much attention you can
gather.

• Is there a niche subject that has always fascinated you? For instance, a
period of history, a political idea? Maybe you’re into computing,
marketing, gardening, cooking, fantasy fiction or gaming? Share your
ideas, discoveries and opinions with like-minded people and you’ll be
surprised how little your ‘style’ of writing matters. It’s all about your
passion and your willingness to share.

• Have you got an interest in your local area? One persons interest in Hackney
means their blog has been picked up by other local artists and producers
of podcasts and radio shows. Perhaps you’re into local history, politics or
charitable causes. These are fertile niches that are worth exploring. It’s
very easy to become an expert in your area, and you have a captive,
enthusiastic audience in your local community.

• Is there something that frustrates you in life? Something you try hard to
overcome? Perhaps other people would be interested in your sharing
your experiences and views? When it comes to looking on the internet
for information, people aren’t looking for poetic writing, they look for
insights from a genuine person going through the same experiences as
they are.

Grab a pen and paper and get brain storming!

Finding Out 'Why'

You’re excited. You start. Things do go quite as you thought. You want to quit.

Most people start a new business or project and quit after a few weeks or months. Infact 90% of people fail. BUT if you have a strong enough reason to do it, then if what you’re doing doesn’t work initially, you’ll figure out some other way.

First thing to do is figure out your ‘why’. Once you understand this, it will give you your staying power when things go wrong and when others criticise and complain.

People in your life will be threatened when you make a push for success. They will criticise, complain, tell you it’s wrong, they wouldn’t be doing what you are.

Why?

Because their life is a mess and miserable and they don’t want to see you do well.

So, how do you get your ‘staying power’?

You need goals and a BIG enough ‘why’- this will be the reason you keep going.

Finding the real ‘why’.

It’s not just about the money. It’ll be something stronger, something you want to get away from, something you REALLY want.

Here are some questions to help you find your ‘why’.

What gets you REALLY excited?
What problem scares you to death that money could solve?
If you had more money, what HUGE problem would go away?
Other than money, what are you looking for?

Here are some reasons people have given that may help you get to your ‘why’.

One guy, Bill, wanted more than anything to have more time to spend with his growing family. He worked hard and had a good income to provide his family with a good lifestyle. The problem was he worked far too many hours. When he came home at night his children were ready for bed, he’d missed their open evenings at school, missed playing ball with them in the evening. His wife was tired at having to do everything in the house, look after the children, and so they had little time as a family. However, family holidays were great, lavish resorts, the sun, the sea, but this couldn’t make up for the lost time during the year. He was determined to find another way. One day a good friend of Bills showed him a business opportunity he was involved with. A way of making a residual income. Bill liked the idea so much he could hardly sleep. He learned everything he could about the business, read books, went to meetings. It was tough at times, not everyone was as enthusiastic as Bill, but his ‘why’, his ‘goal’, kept him going and on to become one of the top sales guys in his network.

One female Lucy had a big ‘why’. As a child her mother had always told her that she was useless and would never become anything. One day Lucy painted a picture and gave it to her aunt, who had told her that the picture was wonderful and that Lucy would do well in life. Remembering the words of her aunt, Lucy was determined to be someone, to be successful, to prove to her mother that she wasn’t useless. This was a big enough ‘why’ for Lucy who went on to run her own successful business after two failed attempts. She had a goal in life that was so big that nothing was going to stop her.

Take the time to really think about your ‘why’. Write it down. Whenever times get tough, whenever you feel like quitting, read it and remember ‘why’ exactly you are making a change.
